The Purpose of the Course

Effective performance management is key to people’s motivation and the delivery of good work. Often called Appraisal, such processes include constructive feedback and effective goal setting aligned to the organisation’s business objectives. This workshop explores the effective appraisal process and gives the opportunity to practise giving feedback and setting realistic, time bound objectives.

It also covers the differences between recruitment, counselling, disciplinary and performance management interviews. Such face to face discussions and fact finding meetings are common in the workplace, but can have very different purposes. The workshop provides an understanding of how to plan, prepare and deliver them in order to reach desired outcomes, including action planning and follow ups where required.
