Who Should Attend?

Appointed persons, nominated First Aiders and those needing refresher training.

Upon training completion participants will be able to take on the role of “Emergency First Aider” in the workplace.

This course teaches the appropriate level of first aid required in low-risk businesses under the HSE 1981 legislation, delivered in line with the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB).

Learning outcomes:

  • Understand the role and responsibilities of the first aider
  • Basic Hygiene in first aid procedures
  • Be able to assess an incident
  • Recovery position, Seizures, Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally
  • Be able to recognise and assist a casualty who is choking
  • Be able to manage a casualty with external bleeding
  • Be able to manage a casualty who is in shock
  • Be able to manage a casualty with a minor injury & procedure for reporting injuries
  • Content of First Aid kit

By the end of the course delegates will be able to:

Manage the scene of an accident, be able to treat any minor ailments and be able to think on their feet in times of an emergency, creating a safer workplace.
