Trilogy Leisure announced on Saturday it has reopened to visitors and members after its forced closure due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown.
Trilogy Leisure, which operates Danes Camp, The Mounts, Duston, Lings Forum and Cripps Recreation Centre at Northampton General Hospital has reopened its doors alongside many others across the country who have joined the Fit Together campaign to encourage people to get moving together again.
“Trilogy would like to encourage its members and customers that they are welcome to pre-book their gym sessions with us and then attend from today,” said John Fletcher, managing director of Trilogy Leisure.
“We are asking for patience as there will be some temporary changes and restrictions but our hard working team have put a great deal of effort into making our centres safe and ready to return to in what are unprecedented times.”
The Fit Together campaign is based on the Government’s guidelines for reopening, which were supported by fitness trade body ukactive and approved by independent scientific advisors.
The reopening followed government and public health guidance to make sure that when people return to the facility to be active, they can do so in a safe environment.
“We are delighted to be welcoming our customer’s back,” John Fletcher continued. “With our gym now open and with Fitness classes starting on the 1st August 2020 we have signs guiding members on how to act safely and responsibly, similar to the signs used in supermarkets, and equipment will be marked as ‘out of use’ or spaced further apart to comply with social distancing rules.”
Changing rooms and showers will also be temporally unavailable, meaning that members are asked to arrive on site wearing the appropriate clothing to be active.
Along with social distancing restrictions, there will be an increase in the cleaning of equipment and touch points and sanitisation stations will be available, to ensure the highest possible standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
The temporary measures will be adapted as and when government advice changes throughout the Coronavirus pandemic. Dates for swimming will announced shortly.
“Along with social distancing restrictions, there will be an increase in the cleaning of equipment and sanitisation stations, to ensure the highest possible standards of hygiene and cleanliness,” said John Fletcher who took over the reins at Trilogy following the retirement of Ian Redfern in June 2020. ”If any of our members have concerns then staff will be able to explain all the changes to them.”
Fitness and leisure facilities were forced to close by the Government on 20 March, meaning that members have been unable to access some of their favourite activities and sports.
