Cransley Hospice is challenging you to run either 5 or 10k in the Cransley BIG Run from wherever you are, on any day between the 20th and 27th September. Due to the coronavirus, Cransley’s 20th Anniversary Road Race which was due to take place on the 20th September has had to be postponed to 2021.
The Charity is appealing for everyone to join in, club runners, park runners, fun runners, joggers and sofa sitters! The BIG run is just 9 weeks away which is the perfect training time to start a couch to 5k and for anyone already running a 5k, there’s still time to train and take on the BIG 10k!
The last six months have been difficult for everyone and getting out and running is an excellent way to improve your physical and mental wellbeing. The staff at Cransley Hospice have been working throughout the lockdown and have had to keep mindful of their own health through this difficult time.
Events such as the Road Race are essential fundraisers for the hospice but due to the coronavirus and the cancellation of so many events and activities, the funds raised will be down by around £450,000 this year. The hospice needs your support to raise around £1.4m each year to provide the high level of service, support and palliative care to patients with complex needs.
It’s easy to sign up via the registration links which are on the Cransley Hospice website, or Facebook page https://www.cransleyhospice.org.uk/event/cransleys-big-run/ Cransley Hospice is offering all participants that raise £25 sponsorship a Cransley Hospice water bottle, and anyone that raises £100 or more, a special commemorative medal.
The 20th Anniversary Cransley Hospice Road Race will be returning to the beautiful village of Cranford on the 19th September 2021.
