Precision targeting brought to life on national stage with video in print

A Wellingborough based design and print management specialist has combined the power of personalisation with the impact of video as part of its new vue tv product range. Vue tv, powered by Print Data Solutions, incorporates a thin, high definition video screen into a printed brochure or business card, and can be individually personalised using inks or coloured foils.

Two variations of the brochures can be available within just five working days for up to 50 units and the stock and overprint order option, which caters for larger volumes, is even faster and not limited to a particular size of brochure.

These premium-printed items went on show for the first time as part of the Marketing Week Live exhibition last month at Olympia London. They were also showcased at the B2B Marketing Expo at Excel London.

Vue tv is the latest addition to the portfolio of the Wellingborough-based company which has 20 years’ experience of print management, design and merchandise.

Scott Rendall, commercial director at Print Data Solutions said, “Video marketing is set to be one of the biggest stories of 2018. The online space is a crowded market with many distractions and it is a real challenge to keep the thumb from scrolling. We know that a high proportion of videos are skipped online within the first five seconds. When a vue tv brochure arrives in front of them, people are more likely to pay attention and watch it for longer.

“Everyone enjoys receiving an item with their own name on it. The growth of personalisation in marketing increasingly means that people expect to receive information that is tailored specifically for them. We use inks or coloured metallic foil to add names and/or images to our printed items and they look really professional.”

Scott explained that vue tv is not just for printed brochures. Video screens of various sizes can also be incorporated into packaging, exhibition stands or point of sale material. Uses could include product launches or demonstrations, presentations and pitches, or even training delivery.

“Our video brochures can be produced with softback or hardback covers and a soft touch laminate. Brochures are fully designed according to clients’ brand guidelines. The recipient’s name or company logo can be printed on the front cover using inks or metallic foils which really stand out. The vue tv has a pin-sharp resolution, a full viewing angle and stereo sound, so it’s just like watching a mini HD TV. Video starts to play automatically as soon as the item is opened. You have nearly an hour of playing time and the 1GB memory can incorporate multiple videos. The battery lasts two hours and is fully rechargeable”, said Scott.

Print Data Solutions has deliberately made the service as flexible as possible to enable as many different businesses as possible to get the chance to try vue tv.
