Northamptonshire Chamber, in association with the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), is pleased to announce that from January 2013, it will offer six nationally accredited one-day export training courses.
The set of six core courses, which will be accredited by the BCC and provided across its nationwide network of chambers, are offered as a family of short courses. The courses are individually and collectively relevant to SMEs involved in international trade.
Candidates achieving Pass or Merit in any of the courses will receive a uniquely numbered certificate in each area. Those who pass all six courses will achieve a nationally recognised BCC Foundation Award in International Trade.
The courses are suitable for both experienced exporters and those with no previous knowledge of exporting and are as follows:
1. Export: Procedures & Documentation
Understand how to produce the necessary documentation for an international shipment and identify where to go for sources of international information and assistance.
2. Finance Options: Letters of Credit
Learn about Letters of Credit, the process and methods relating to international payments and how to understand costs and deal with discrepant documents.
3. Import: Compliance & Savings
An explanation of import documentation and procedures, including where to go for sources of international information and assistance, and how to comply with customs procedures.
4. Introduction to Export
Prepare an export quotation, understand export order processing, documentation and terms of sale.
5. Export Licence and Incoterms 2010
An introduction to International Commercial Terms (Incoterms) - internationally recognised standard trade terms used in sales contracts to make sure buyers and sellers know who is responsible for the cost of transporting the goods - how they work, and where to go for more help and information.
6. Methods of Payment
Learn how to identify the different methods of payment and documentation used in international trade.
Paul Griffiths, Chief Executive of Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce, commented: “We are pleased to be able to offer this suite of training courses which will add to and enhance our already extensive range of International Trade products and services.
“The fact that they are accredited by the British Chambers of Commerce assures employers and delegates of the course quality and the relevance of the knowledge and skills learned within them. Those that complete the courses also benefit by achieving a nationally recognised qualification.”
