Dominic Biggin (pictured here) has been appointed as the new general manager of Sedgebrook Hall, part of The Venues Collection, with immediate effect.
Dominic joins The Venues Collection from the four star Palace Hotel Buxton where, over a three-year period, he enjoyed a proven track record, consistently delivering strong sales and profit growth and specialising in building and motivating teams to provide high levels of quality service. His key skills include implementing brand changes, improving staff moral and identifying and maximising revenue streams in a challenging environment.
Prior to working at the Palace Hotel Buxton, Dominic was general manager of the Mercure Kidderminster Hotel for two years and operations manager at the Mercure Wetherby Hotel.
Dominic is joined at Sedgebrook Hall by director of sales, Rachael Waldron, who enjoys over 20 years’ experience in the hotel and leisure industry. Previously, Rachael worked at Thwaites Hotels & Lodges where she opened a 54 bedroom Lodge with over 40 new corporate clients signed. Prior to Thwaites, Rachael worked as a national sales manager for Wyboston Lakes Limited.
Said Dominic: “I am thrilled and excited to be joining Sedgebrook Hall and The Venues Collection.” Describing himself very much as a “people person”, he continued: “I’m really looking forward to getting to know the key people working at the venue and the group.” He believes that by “realising the potential of your staff, you can realise the potential of the venue,” a sentiment that Rachael echoes.
