CDR Pumps selected as our Pump Manufacturer of the month

CDR Pumps has been selected as Industrial Process news Pump Manufacturer of the month, for its high-quality chemical pumps and fluid handling solutions for UK industry.

CDR Pumps is an Italian pump manufacturer established in the 1950s. Initially, these pumps were being rebadged and sold in the UK, however, in 1998 the UK subsidiary was set up by Ashely Fenn to bring the CDR name to UK customers.

Based in Wellingborough, CDR Pumps has sales engineers situated around the country, ensuring its products and services can be offered nationwide. Although just a small company, it has almost doubled in size over the last four years and moved to larger premises, progress which is only set to continue in the coming years.

“We are first and foremost a pump manufacturer,” explained Kevin Pratt, sales manager, “but we also provide a wide range of fluid handling solutions. Current projects include companies in chemical manufacturing and distribution, pharmaceutical manufacturing, nuclear sites, surface finishing, manufacturing industries, water and wastewater, recycling, energy from waste sites and the oil and gas industry.”

One of CDR Pumps’ significant benefits is that it only sells solutions it believes are suitable for its customers, rather than selling inferior products purely to make a profit. “We do get to cherry-pick what we do and don’t provide. We only sell fluid handling solutions that we believe in, that will stand the test of time and are the right choice for your application. The sales team is comprised of qualified and experienced engineers who can support you through the entire process, carry out site surveys, troubleshoot problems with systems and carry out a comprehensive analysis of your needs.”

Indeed, in line with this commitment to only the highest quality, every unit manufactured by CDR Pumps is performance tested to the exact duty required. What’s more, the company has developed a patented lining technology, which serves to significantly increase the lifespan of its pumps.

This dedication is apparent in CDR’s tagline, ‘Making the right choice’. Kevin elaborated, “Looking at the feedback we were receiving from customers, the words commonly used were: reliable, never lets us down, products are easy to maintain, helpful, supportive, knowledgeable. So we wanted to convey to people that CDR is the right choice for products – we will help you find the right solution for your application – and the right choice for service. CDR Pumps is here to support you from your initial enquiry all the way through to installation, testing and use – our job doesn’t end when your pump leaves us.

“Also, we wanted to convey that we are the right choice for knowledge, and this is twofold because we do have experienced pump engineers, trained and time-served, who can offer you the very best advice. We also run training sessions so you can make sure your fluid handling solutions are operating as they should be.”

Last year, CDR Pumps launched its first solids handling magnetic drive pump into the UK market, and this year it has increased its range of moulded mag drives by introducing the STN 80. Indeed, the company is constantly innovating and working to develop new products and solutions for its wide-ranging customer base.

After a successful calendar of trade show events in 2019, CDR Pumps will be attending Surface World, SURFEX and CHEM UK in 2020, so be sure to go along and see what they have to offer. For more inforamtion, head to the website or get in touch using the contact details below.
