Department for International Trade wants export customers to help shape its service

The Department for International Trade is appealing to export customers to help it develop its new import/export licensing service.

The department is striving to move end-user undertakings from a paper-based system to a digital one and has talked with exporters about how it can improve the service.

Now it is hoping exporters can put the department in touch with their export customers to find out how they think the service could be improved.

A spokesman for the Department for International Trade said: “End users of exported goods, software and technology can be surprised that their end of the deal might include completing forms for the UK Government.

“We need to see this process from both ends - from the perspective of the overseas customer as well as the UK exporter’s.”
