Community groups, voluntary organisations and charities are being encouraged to bid for extra money available to help local good causes. The Partnership Fund Grants Scheme could see thousands of pounds being given to groups and organisations that do positive work in Northampton. Northampton Borough Council is accepting applications for next year’s Partnership Fund.
Grants are available to groups and organisations working in the community and voluntary sector. Applications must be for a minimum of £2,000 and will be accepted from registered charities, unregistered voluntary or community groups, registered charitable companies limited by guarantee and Social Enterprises.
Applications must be for a service that meets any of the following priorities:
- Community advice and guidance
- Practical support for people who are vulnerable
- Community opportunities for active engagement
Councillor Paul Varnsverry, Northampton Borough Council’s cabinet member for community engagement, said: “Northampton is fortunate to have so many groups and organisations actively working to help people. The Partnership Fund Grant Scheme could make a huge difference to these groups, especially in the current economic climate. If you think your organisation could benefit from the scheme then please contact the Borough Council about making an application.”
An application pack can be downloaded from the council’s website www.northampton.gov.uk/partnershipfund
If you require a printed version of the application pack or for further information about the Partnership Fund Grant Scheme please contact Joe Biskupski at Northampton Borough Council on firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 01604 837074. Applications must be received by Friday 14 January 2011.
