Cassie the crocodile will be crocodile rocking along the “Cransley Way”, to see if she can keep up with the nurses at Cransley Hospice this April.
The Cransley Way is a 100-mile virtual adventure route, which is roughly the distance a Cransley Hospice nurse will walk during a month.
Anyone can join in! Run, hop, skip or rock it like Cassie, it doesn’t matter! Participants can let friends and family know how they are doing by posting a special digital “Cransley Way postcard” onto their social media channels from each point along the route
The route winds to the snowy summit of Snowdon (9 Miles), along the historic Hadrian’s Wall (25 miles), to the beautiful Brecon’s (62 miles) and through the rolling countryside of Northamptonshire (50 Miles). Tracing the steps a nurse would take whilst on an average day shift in a month.
Getting outside and getting daily exercise is good for our physical and mental wellbeing and a daily walk could help to put a spring in your step! With the slight easing of lockdown restrictions, buddy up with a friend, have a good natter and a catch-up and you’ll barely notice as you tick off the miles to reach the next beauty spot!
Our hospice team have kept walking and working throughout the pandemic, adapting to new challenges and continuing to provide very special care for patients and
supporting their families as they face their challenges. So, why not sign up and make a difference by making your spring walks count this April?
Registration is £10 for individuals or £20 for a household (up to 6 people). If each person raised at least £120 they would each be supporting the equivalent of a nurse’s day shift.
Participants can set their own goals and register their places via the Cransley Hospice website: https://www.cransleyhospice.org.uk/event/walk-the-cransley-way/
Once registered participants will receive a special fundraising pack with their downloadable postcards so that they can let everyone know how well you’re doing, and how far
they have got along the Cransley Way and why they’re doing it. Everyone completing their challenge will receive a special celebratory Cransley Hospice trophy.
