Businesses rally to give Teamwork a happy Christmas

Businesses have been rallying around to give one Northamptonshire charity an extra special Christmas – with staff from The Royal Bank of Scotland preparing, cooking and serving Christmas dinner and a team from RS Components providing the afternoon entertainment.

Teamwork Trust works with and supports its Northamptonshire members – adults with mental health needs, learning and physical disabilities – offering a programme of enabling and education projects, activities and counselling programmes.

In the lead-up to Christmas volunteers from The Royal Bank of Scotland (pictured left) – who travelled to Northamptonshire from all across the country - popped into the charity’s Corby centre to cook up a festive treat for all the members.

Neal Graham, head of strategic initiatives for The Royal Bank of Scotland in England and Wales, said: “It’s so important to give back to the community and coming here and not just cooking but also serving a three-course Christmas dinner is so rewarding. We love it and are delighted to be back here at Teamwork Trust, bringing smiles to so many faces.”

In the afternoon volunteers from Corby-based business RS Components (pictured below) performed a pantomime, called Santa’s Cookie Problem, starring an ever-expanding Father Christmas.

Kathryn Fantom, chair of the My Community team at RS Components, said: “We love supporting Teamwork and have had great fun preparing this panto. It doesn’t matter how you feel when you step through the doors of Teamwork, it’s impossible not to leave with a smile.”

To cap off an afternoon of Christmas fun the RS Components team presented Teamwork Trust with a surprise present – a cheque for £500.

Graham Marshall, operations director of Teamwork Trust, said: “Having the support of these local businesses at this special time of the year means the world to our members and we are hugely grateful to the teams at The Royal Bank of Scotland and RS Components for giving our members a Christmas party they will never forget – fabulous food and superb entertainment.”
