An organisation whose aim is to build a thriving community of new and existing business owners is sponsoring a category at the Northamptonshire Business Awards.
Business & IP Centre Northamptonshire is sponsoring the new category of Best New Business of the Year at this year’s awards.
The award is a perfect fit for the organisation which supports entrepreneurs, inventors and small businesses from that first spark of inspiration through to successfully launching and developing a business. It does this through a variety of ways, including running free workshops and providing information and advice sessions on self-employment and intellectual property.
Senior information manager Patricia Greaves (pictured) said: “We are proud to be sponsoring the Best New Business of the Year award category at this year’s Northamptonshire Business Awards.
“Whether someone is just starting out, needs advice on protecting intellectual property, or are ready to take the next step in their business journey, we are here to help.
“This award fits perfectly with our range of free business start-up support and resources and follows on from our successful Reset. Restart small business grant and programme.
“Led by the British Library the BIPC National Network offers a unique business support model through libraries. We provide physical hubs where people can come together to learn, network and access free information and support in protecting and commercialising a business idea.
“Northamptonshire Libraries are uniquely situated in central town locations, being accessible and open to all. Libraries are a trusted non-judgemental portal offering free internet access and computer use, as well as our traditional lending services.”
The Best New Business of the Year award is open to businesses that have started operating since June 2019 and have made considerable progress to grow, develop and make a real impact.
The other categories are Business Person of the Year, Employer of the Year, Workplace Wellbeing, Customer Commitment, International Trade Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Family Business of the Year, High Growth Business of the Year, and Young Business Person of the Year.
Anyone who submits an award entry will be invited at the end of their submission to apply for The New Normal Award. This award is open to businesses and individuals who can demonstrate how they have not just embraced ‘the new normal’ but have thrived as a result.
The event will also recognise the contribution charities make to Northamptonshire with a live vote on the awards night to select the winner of the Charity of the Year Award.
Organisations have until 5pm on Friday to submit their entry and be in with the chance of being recognised as one of the very best performing firms in the county.
The awards will culminate with an awards ceremony and dinner on 11 November 2021 at Park Inn Northampton.
