From January 2019 - Nisha, at Dyslexia Diagnostics, will not only be offering a new service but also bursary places for those who need access to psychological therapies but are unable to self-fund.
The new therapeutic approach, ovement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), is a form of particularly effective in treating post-traumatic stress disorders (s). Rather than relying on the individual to talk through their experiences the approach uses one’s own rapid, rhythmic movements. Nisha uses this approach to weaken emotionally charged memories of past (traumatic) events. The approach although relatively new already has a positive evidence base and is proven to be an effective approach in treating both adults and children.
