Opus Energy, the UK’s sixth biggest business energy supplier, announced on 7th March the appointment of Nikki Flanders as its new Chief Operating Officer.
The role will involve overseeing the day to day running of the business, with a view to ensuring Opus Energy’s continued growth. In addition, Nikki will be responsible for seeing that the company’s broad customer base, comprised of over 275,000 business locations across the UK, continues to receive the highest quality of service.
Nikki brings significant business leadership experience to the role of COO. Prior to joining Opus Energy, she spent five years at O2, where she held the position of General Manager for the last three years, and has also previously operated in senior roles at Centrica, WHSmith and Marks & Spencer. She has a proven track record of overseeing activities such as product strategy and development, pricing and customer service within B2B markets; all of which puts her in prime position to service Opus Energy’s customer-base.
Nikki commented on her new role: “Joining Opus Energy now is a great opportunity. Opus Energy has shown itself to be a true market leader, working to make powering customers’ businesses a straightforward process, while providing support and guidance for younger, up-and-coming companies.
“In today’s energy landscape, where the price of power is constantly rising and we are faced with countless suppliers offering varying forms of energy, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to know how best to power your business. We want to make that processes more transparent and straight forward for our customers.”
Nikki’s appointment comes hot on the heels of another major announcement for Opus Energy, having recently been acquired by Drax Group, owner of Britain’s largest single site renewable power station, for £340 million. Jonathan Kini, Drax Retail CEO, said: “Nikki joins us at a very exciting time for both Drax and Opus Energy. The retail business is an important part of the Drax Group – Opus Energy is a challenger brand and we are looking forward to benefiting from Nikki’s extensive experience. She will be instrumental in taking Opus Energy to further success.”
