Northampton Town Education Centre to get major refit to mark its 10th anniversary

Posted: 26/01/17 by Northampton Town Football Club

To celebrate its 10th anniversary, the Cobblers Study Centre at Sixfields is to undergo a major makeover next month.

The refit will include brand new facilities in the two fully equipped classrooms and will see the kitchen completely refitted by Northampton Benchmarx.

The Study Centre (pictured), which is being rebranded as the Northampton Town Education Centre, Sixfields campus ahead of the opening of a St Crispins campus, is a fully working, integrated education resource managed by Jean Limpitlaw, that offers local students and pupils the chance to learn at Sixfields and part of an exciting and dynamic partnership between Northamptonshire County Council and Northampton Town Football Club.

The Centre works in close partnership with local schools and education providers to raise educational standards across Northamptonshire through outreach and alternative provision programmes.

“The Education Centre is one of the crown jewels in our extensive community outreach,” said Chairman Kelvin Thomas. “I know Jean and her staff do a fantastic job and have helped to educate thousands of local youngsters over the last ten years but we want to help them do even more and we will be able to do that thanks to Travis Perkins and Northampton Benchmarx.”

“This is a superb example of a truly integrated activation with local businesses to use their expertise and generosity to help the local community,” said Caroline Lucy, Commercial & Marketing Manager.
