Top of the bill was acclaimed face-changing magician Weidong Wang, who had flown in from China especially to perform at the event.
He wowed the crowd with a fantastic performance, which drew huge applause.
Following the traditional dances and speeches, there were colourful performances from the local Chinese community, the Chinese School, students from the Chinese section of the University of Northampton and a guest appearance by dancers from Northampton’s Indian Hindu Welfare Organisation.

Councillor Jonathan Nunn, leader of Northampton Borough Council, said: “I thought it was a great turnout in spite of the weather and a good time was had by everyone who attended.
“It was fantastic to see people in Northampton come out and support an event which was a tribute to the organisation and enthusiasm from the county’s Chinese Society.
“It would be wonderful to make this an annual event and I would like to say a big thank you to the organisers and not least the performers who put on such a great show for us.”
