Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce has named Cynthia Spencer Hospice as its Charity of the Year 2017/18.

The charity which is based in Northampton, provides specialist palliative care services for South Northamptonshire.

Cynthia Spencer Hospice provides inpatient care, outpatient services. Hospice@Home, a lymphoedema service and palliative care clinical nurse specialist service. It has two specialist consultants in palliative medicine, a team of doctors and specialist nurses working within the Hospice and the community as well as in Northampton General Hospital and Danetre Hospital in Daventry.

As Charity of the Year, Cynthia Spencer Hospice will be given complimentary membership to the Chamber’s Business Alliance Group, enabling it to network with some of the most influential companies in the county and attend Chamber events for free.

The Business Alliance Group membership also means the charity’s logo will be featured on the Chamber’s website (www.northants-chamber.co.uk) and in various other Chamber publications and company stationery.

Paul Griffiths, chief executive of Northamptonshire Chamber, said: “As a Chamber, it is important for us to support the work of local charities and their contribution to the community. We look forward to working with Cynthia Spencer Hospice and raising the profile of its incredible work.”
