Business is booming in Northamptonshire and the county’s top performers are getting ready to be celebrated at an annual awards ceremony.
The launch of the 2017 SME Northamptonshire Business Awards will take place at Northampton College on Tuesday, 25 April – kick-starting the process of finding the county’s brightest business brains and crowning our champions of commerce.
The awards will raise the profile of hard-working, innovative and enterprising businesses across Northamptonshire, giving them a platform from which they can shout about their success.
Pat Brennan-Barrett, principal of Northampton College, said: “We are thrilled to be staging the launch event for these awards. SMEs are a huge part of college life, giving our learners the chance to secure jobs with local employers, taking on apprentices and playing a pivotal role in Northamptonshire’s thriving economy.
“Northamptonshire is a great place to do business and a successful business community can only be good news for our students. It means there are more opportunities out there for them and it allows us to produce a tailor-made workforce of the future for key industries in the local area.
“By working closely with local employers we can better understand their needs, identify the skills they require and ensure our students are ready to hit the ground running when they make that transition from classroom to workplace.”
Northampton College is a platinum sponsor of the awards and is also sponsoring the search for the ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’.
The awards launch will take place at 11am on Tuesday, 25 April at Northampton College’s Booth Lane campus.
The closing date for entries is 7 July and the awards dinner itself will be held at the Mercure Daventry Court Hotel on 25 October.
