Northampton’s casino is giving a modern twist to the tradition of afternoon tea to help raise funds for a local charity.
Next month, Aspers Northampton in Commercial Street is unveiling a calendar of daily afternoon offers including a £2.95 Afternoon Tea; served each Wednesday between midday and 3pm.
To launch the Afternoon Treats offer, Aspers called in the services of butler-style waiting staff – much to the delight of the Ladies Who Lunch and other specially-invited guests.
A pound from each Afternoon Tea sold will be donated to Northamptonshire-based charity Niamh’s Next Step. The charity supports families affected by neuroblastoma and raises money to fund vital research education programmes into this devastating disease.
It was set up by parents Chris and Samantha Curry in memory of their five-year-old daughter Niamh, who was one of the 100 children to be diagnosed with neuroblastoma in the UK each year.
“We’ve been able to work with Niamh’s Next Step on several one-off fundraising projects in the past,” said David Stratford, Aspers General Manager.“However this time we wanted to get more involved and do something over a longer timeframe. Afternoon Tea is a great tradition and we are glad we can offer it to our customers, in stylish surroundings, at a great price,” he added.
Other Afternoon Treats running in June include free weekly prize draw, free tournaments and matchplay offers.
Located in the heart of the town, Aspers Northampton is an entertainment complex with everything you need under one roof. Divided over two feature-packed levels and occupying a total floorspace in excess of 30,000 square feet, Aspers includes its own bar, restaurant and live music and entertainment.
