Three businesses from Northamptonshire have been crowned winners in the East Midlands heats of the Chamber Business Awards 2019. Now in their 16th year, the Awards are a highlight of the business calendar, recognising the key role that local businesses play in driving the UK economy.
The Curve Group won the Workplace Wellbeing Award, Barker Shoes Ltd won E-Commerce Business of the Year and ID Card Centre was named Family Business of the Year
The three winners will now go forward to represent the East Midlands in the national finals, which take place in London in November.
Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce chief executive Paul Griffiths said: “We are thrilled that three of our members have been named winners at these prestigious awards. They are fine examples of the brilliant businesses that are helping Northamptonshire to prosper and we wish them every success in the national Chamber Business Awards finals.”
Francis Martin, president of the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), added: “The Chamber Business Awards are a great opportunity to celebrate the best of British business. Across the country, there are firms of all sizes and sectors thriving and showing their innovation and adaptability, even in the midst of turbulent times.
“Our businesses’ communities continue to generate prosperity and opportunity so it’s only right that we support and shout about the fantastic things they are doing.
“Each year the calibre of applicants impresses our judges, and this pool of entrants was no different. All our finalists should be proud of their success in reaching this stage and we wish them the very best of luck.”
HR and recruitment specialists, The Curve Group, began their road to success at the 2019 Northamptonshire Business Awards, organised by Northamptonshire Chamber, along with fellow finalist Barker Shoes Ltd.
Barker Shoes Ltd, which also won the 2018 Northamptonshire Business of the Year title, will be hoping to make it two years in a row after winning the Digital Communications Campaign of the Year title at last year’s national finals.
Identity and access control experts ID Card Centre will also be returning to the national awards for the second year in a row after it was shortlisted for the Best Use of Technology award and the High Growth Business of the Year title in 2018.
