This intermediate course takes you purely beyond understanding the basics of Excel to teaching some of the tools and techniques that will really add value to your systems

The user will be able to understand some of the principles behind Excel’s functions and features to increase the effectiveness when using this sophisticated program. This course builds on the knowledge of the introduction to Excel course by showing the user how to get more out of the programme.

Anyone who is familiar with the basic features of Excel will benefit from attending this course. This course places great emphasis upon the importance of understanding how the programme works rather than simply learning how to perform a range of functions. It is therefore important that participants are at the appropriate level to ensure a good learning experience.

By the end of this course you will be able to
- Confidentially enter basic formulas and functions
- Use the inbuilt ‘If function’ to resolve ‘either/or’ situations
- Understand and use Excels quick AutoCalculate
- Get round problems that occur when they copy formulas from one place or another
- Use LookUp tables to find the answers to complex queries
- Design and manage long lists of data
- Sort, filter and sub total lists
- Produce data forms for simple database entry
- Outline worksheets so that they can collapse or expand the list of data they are viewing
- Automatically draw attention to data the meets specific criteria
- Link worksheets and workbooks for greater productivity
- Practice using our hints and tips for fun and efficiency
