Help to calculate employees’ holiday entitlement
EMB Ltd, the organisation responsible for delivering the Businesses Link service across the East Midlands, is hoping that a new, FREE online interactive tool will help businesses across Northamptonshire work out their employees' holiday entitlement.
Currently, a worker is entitled to holiday from their first day of employment with the minimum statutory entitlement being currently 5.6 weeks annually. The FREE interactive tool www.businesslink.gov.uk/eastmidlands/holiday enables employers to quickly and easily calculate a worker's current and future holiday entitlement based on the number of days they work per week and provides access to additional information including:
- Statutory paid holiday entitlement
- Calculating and paying holiday pay
- Calculating the increased holiday entitlement for different leave years and new starters
- Calculating holiday entitlement for typical workers
- Holiday entitlement for employees on other statutory leave
- Pay and time off on public and bank holidays
- Taking holiday - notice periods, restrictions and sickness
- Holiday pay on termination of employment
The holiday calculator is part of a wider package of tools and guidance being made available from Business Link. For example, the tool "Taking on a new employee" - www.businesslink.gov.uk/eastmidlands/newemployee - has been created to make it easier for local businesses to comply with the latest employment laws, giving advice on:
- Registering as an employer with HM Revenue & Customs
- Paying your employee for the first time
- Setting up a pension scheme
- Making health and safety arrangements
