FREE ROSE (Real Options for Skills and Employment) event to take place in February
ROSE (Real Options for Skills and Employment), a concept organised by The Mallows Company and Wellingborough Borough Council, is offering businesses the chance to exhibit as well as promote current vacancies, apprenticeships and services to those who are seeking work.
The event, which attracts the short and long-term unemployed from the Wellingborough area who are keen to get back into the workplace and those who are simply looking for a career change, has already enjoyed a number of successes.
Mark Darnell, Director of Higham Ferrers-based Home Instead Senior Care which provides care services for older and disabled people in their own homes, said; “I’ve been to previous ROSE events and have recruited a number of excellent employees to join my staff as a result. The fairs are extremely well organised and well attended and are a great way of finding the right people who are keen to work – and it’s free! I heartily recommend going along!”
As well as featuring at the ROSE events, there is also the opportunity for businesses to advertise their vacancies on the monthly jobs stand at the Swansgate Shopping Centre and promote those to The Mallows Company’s Next Step clients – unemployed people who are referred by the Job Centre – on a daily basis.
For Rachel Mallows of The Mallows Company, the event is a perfect opportunity to meet everybody’s needs. She said: “When we set up the ROSE fairs back in December 2011, we were ultimately trying to help those who were out of work. Of course what we’ve now become are ‘job matchmakers’ because we can also solve a company’s headache of finding and accessing the right people to fill those empty roles. It really is ‘win-win’!”
The next ROSE fair is taking place from 10am to 1pm on Tuesday 7 February at the Tithe Barn, Burystead Place in Wellingborough.
