Donation on the cards for Moore Stephens

Sending good wishes via a Christmas card is a long-held tradition, but a local hospice is about to benefit from a decision by a firm of accountants to do something different this year.

Staff at Moore Stephens' Corby office were invited to make a donation to Lakelands Hospice in lieu of sending internal Christmas cards last year - and raised £100.

Organised by Janita Makin, the money from the collection has been passed on to the Corby hospice. Janita said: "The company still made sure it passed on its Christmas good wishes to its friends and clients, but we decided that rather than sending cards to one another, we would have a collection for charity instead. Most people thought it was a great idea and we raised a good sum to help Lakelands with their important work."
