Debra Charles becomes UK Female Entrepreneurship Ambassador
Novacroft’s Managing Director, Debra Charles, has taken on the mantle of becoming a UK Female Entrepreneurship Ambassador (UKFEA).
The UK Female Entrepreneurship Ambassadors are 50 dynamic enterprising women from all parts of the UK, who are working alongside women and girls to encourage them to consider, start and grow businesses.
Debra Charles is well-placed to champion female entrepreneurship, and has used her core characteristics of energy, will and determination and business acumen to direct Novacroft to its current status as a well-respected multi-million pound award-winning organisation. In recognition of her efforts, Debra has recently been shortlisted in the Science and Technology category of the First Women Awards.
Novacroft designs, develops and manages innovative end-to-end smart ticketing solutions. Today, Debra’s vision for Novacroft is to make it simpler and faster for more people in the community to take advantage of the services being introduced by central and local Government, specifically in areas such as travelling by bus and train, accessing library and leisure facilities, utilising cashless school catering, and other supporting services.
UKFEA is part of a wider EU-funded ambassador group – the European Network of Female Entrepreneurship Ambassadors (ENFEA). Through this group, a high-level network of 250 role models over 22 EU countries act as ambassadors, sharing the message about the benefits of female entrepreneurship across Europe. The project was established by the EU to raise awareness and share positive messages about enterprise through increasing the number of proactive role models for women. Debra is delighted to be a UK Female Entrepreneurship Ambassador.
