BBC Top Gear : Augmented reality the way it should be

Engine Creative was recently given the challenge of uniting Top Gear’s print magazine with its TV content through Augmented Reality.

The Top Gear brand personality is well known for being tongue in cheek, irreverent and straight to the point.

Having worked with the Top Gear team before, Engine Creative had insight into the Top Gear world and have used this knowledge to help define one of the UK’s best loved TV brands.

Engine augmented Top Gear’s editorial content and pushed to find new and exciting ways to engage with readers. In addition to the front cover of this ‘Awards’ issue, test-drive footage of four supercars within the pages of December’s magazine also receives the augmented reality treatment, bringing to life Top Gear’s award-winning cars of 2011. This madeTop Gear’s December issue the world’s first fully augmented magazine - worldwide media coverage reaching audiences around the world. Augmented Reality is now to be rolled out on all future Top Gear magazine front covers.
