A town with a head for business

Later this month budding businessmen and women will be able to get some free help and advice from a business expert who has helped hundreds of new businesses take off.

Northampton Borough Council and Barclays Bank are working together to help the town's business community. On Tuesday 21 September the Guildhall is hosting an event to help new businesses. The "Let your new Business Take Flight" seminar is open to anyone who is interested in starting a new business or has recently started one.

Business expert Richard Voisey from NWES will be using the evening to explain how new businesses can become successful businesses. For more than years 25 years NWES has helped set up new businesses, advising them on how to avoid the pitfalls and problems they will encounter in their first months and years of trading.

The evening will cover everything a new business will need to know. Topics will include drafting business plans, managing finances and building a good reputation.

Councillor Richard Church, Northampton Borough Council cabinet member for regeneration said: "This is a chance to get expert advice on how to start a new business. Northampton is ideally located for new businesses. We have excellent transport links, a university and a growing population. However, starting a new business can be a daunting prospect, so come along to this event and take advantage of this opportunity to learn from someone who has helped thousands of businesses."

There will be free parking for everyone attending this event. For more information at the event or to reserve your tickets please call the Barclays Bank Events Team on 0845 601 0106.
