Tresham helps prepare learners for employment
Fifteen individuals that have been studying professional qualifications at Tresham’s Business Solutions division will be presented with certificates at a presentation ceremony taking place on Tuesday 15 June 2010 at 4pm. This will be followed by an open evening at the centre in Corby Gate Business Park from 5-7pm.
Tresham Business Solutions learners have achieved a variety of work focused qualifications as part of a four week course through Routes into Work, a project funded by the Skills Funding Agency. Qualifications, which included Food Hygiene and Manual Handling, were completed by individuals who have been out of work for six months or more and aged 19 – 24.
The certificates being presented to individuals on Tuesday 15 June will, for some, be the first qualifications that many of them have ever received.
Libby Langley said: “Tresham Business Solutions is proud to support those looking to return to the workplace. We offer free training in conjunction with Job Centre Plus to prepare learners for work in a specific sector or job role, such as retail, call centres, logistics and health care. Our network of employer contacts means we are able to tailor the training to an employer’s requirements and ensure the learners are 'interview ready' for any vacancies they may have.”
The open evening that will be held on the same day after the presentation will provide people who are employed but wishing to study part time, or those who have been unemployed for six months or more, the chance to find out more about the variety of work specific training designed to improve their employability and career development.
