T James Electrical now approved contractor for Northamptonshire County Council
T James Electrical of Kettering has announced that it is now a Trading Standards, Buy with Confidence approved contractor for Northamptonshire County Council.
After it was announced that a major contractor was unable to carry out some work with the Council due to financial problems, T James Electrical looked into becoming an approved supplier for the County Council. The company was assessed and had to change many of its internal processes to become eligible, such as its training and development and induction and hiring procedures.
All members of staff had to be verified and CRB checked and a robust system put in place to continually monitor the background of anyone working in the public sector. A forum was also set up to reach all the targets set from the Trading Standard for Buy with Confidence and this was managed by the HR department and the Health & Safety department.
The company applied for Buy with Confidence in June last year and the application was cleared at the beginning of March. The certification for Buy with Confidence will give the Council peace of mind when working on contracts that have contact with the young and vulnerable, and all those having work done by T James have the opportunity to send in a feedback form directly to Northamptonshire County Council.
