Northamptonshire executives can hone leadership skills at free seminar

Northamptonshire Leaders’ Group (NLG) operates leadership development groups across the county which are aimed at MDs, Chief Executives and senior executives who run significant organisations.

The organisation runs introductory breakfast sessions – scaled down versions of a full meeting condensed into two and half hours.  There are a limited number of complimentary vacancies for the next introductory breakfast on Thursday 11 March from 7.15 until 9.45am. This is to be held at the Kettering Park Hotel, Northamptonshire, where delegates will hear expert speaker which Richard Wilkins the UK Minister for Inspiration talk on “Effective Leaders - How to Get There And Stay There”

According to Joint Chairman Chris Chater, a number of common themes regularly emerge from NLG meetings.

He believes successful leaders take the time to stand back from their business, and look at it from the outside.  The need to generate innovative ideas and explore new approaches is key.  These business people are frequently looking for ways to develop themselves and their leadership skills and are open to learning from others’ experiences.

The problem, Chater believes, is that the plethora of courses and seminars widely available just don’t address the issues of these top business people.

The NLG provides an exclusive, confidential forum where senior executives can meet with other business leaders from differing backgrounds.  There are already three well established groups in Northamptonshire, and the organisation has retained the commitment of its members in these difficult business times.  Chater maintains this is down to the new ideas they receive from the expert speakers, the strength of the group in the problem solving forum and the mutual support process. “Many people at the top have nobody to turn to for advice and they value the chance to share with like minded people from different backgrounds in a totally confidential environment” he says. ”We have members from markets as diverse as manufacturing, accountancy practices, IT, law firms, aircraft maintenance and telecoms.  But they all have similar issues and concerns.”

Senior executives interested in the free breakfast session on 11 March can book online at www.thenlg.co.uk or call 01536 726966.
