New business support event series to start in Northampton
The regional Business Link service will kick off another series of its successful local business support events with two events in Northamptonshire in January 2010.
The increasingly popular Is It For You? start-up workshops will be taking place at The Kettering Conference Centre on Saturday 9 January and at The Delos Conference Centre in Wellingborough on Saturday 30 January. Those that are looking to explore new ventures and further their business ideas in 2010 are encouraged to attend.
The events are FREE and a team of start-up advisers will be on hand to talk through potential business ideas. Successful local entrepreneurs who have recently undergone the start-up process will also be there to share their own experiences of what it really takes to set up in business.
Wray Irwin, spokesperson for The University of Northampton, which is responsible for providing local access to the regional Business Link Start-Up service says: “We are delighted to see the return of these events. There are many individuals who have waited to see out 2009 and the depths of the recession, and are keen to approach 2010 with new optimism and with new business ideas to launch.
“Business Link can offer advice, support and training tailored just for these individuals and the unique challenges they may face. The Is It For You? events also represent a great opportunity to build a network of contacts for future trading and new opportunities.”
Despite the current economic downturn, the regional Business Link service has assisted over 2,500 local budding entrepreneurs who were looking to start their own business in Northamptonshire during 2009. Business Link has also given help and support this year to an additional 700 newly created businesses across the county.
The regional Business Link Start-Up Service aims to stimulate an enterprise culture. It aims to do this by raising aspirations amongst hard to reach groups including women, students, people in disadvantaged areas and those in employment, in addition to those owners of fledgling businesses.
