Daventry by the Sea” - Could you help re-home 5 tonnes of FREE sand?”
Daventry Town Centre Partnership are bringing the seaside to the town, this summer, to encourage families, local employees and visitors to enjoy the town centre in a different way.
"Daventry by the Sea" will see a man-made beach, donkey rides, carousels, and deck chairs in Daventry on Thurs 12th & Fri 13th August, building on the success of last year's event. Local businesses are welcome to get involved over the two days, e.g. providing goods and services to the beach goers.
But after the sunsets on the last day of "seaside" fun, what will happen to all the sand? The Town Centre Partnership would be happy to hear from any business, charity, school or community group that would be able to use some or all of the 5 tonnes of play sand that will be used to manufacture the Daventry "beach". If you would like this FREE sand (if not it will end up in landfill!), you will need to organise a vehicle to pick it up on the evening of Friday 13th August.
Anyone interested in either being involved in the "Daventry By the Sea" event or could find a home for the sand, please email Sally Halson on sally.halson@daventrytcp.co.uk or tel. 01327 828 391.
