Arab-British Certificate of Origin
HOW TO COMPLETE AN ARAB-BRITISH CERTIFICATE OF ORIGIN
The Certificate set must be completed in typescript, each copy in an identical manner, in English, French, Arabic or, if required by the Consignee, in any other language but in these instances it must be accompanied by a written translation.
aCert: Exporters now have the option to apply for an Arab-British Certificate of Origin online. Please ask Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce for details.
Omissions and alterations: The person who made them must authenticate alterations. Crossing out is acceptable but do not overtype or use correction fluid.
Once the Certificate has been certified it must be returned to the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce to approve and stamp any amendments. This will attract a new certification fee. If the Certificate has already been legalised, no alterations can be made and a new Certificate must be submitted.
A horizontal line should be drawn immediately below the final entry in box 6 to make subsequent additions impossible.
If required, extra copies of the Certificate may be made. Ask Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce for the “copy” forms.
The complete three-part set must be submitted.(Security Patterned, Green and Blue)
Evidence of origin must be presented with the Certificate when the Exporter is not the manufacturer of the goods. Examples of satisfactory evidence are manufacturers’ invoice(s) or certificate(s) of origin. There are instances when satisfactory evidence is not available, instead, the Arab-British Chamber will accept a letter of indemnity produced by Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce.
