VCT has won a tender to develop a bespoke Fish Quota Management system for the Eastern England Fish Producers Organisation (EEFPO).
The system will enable the organisation to provide real-time information to fishing vessels via integrated email and potentially SMS alerts, allowing forecasting to assess when quota limits will be reached. It will also allow the organisation to buy or lease quota for members in a more timely fashion and provide accurate audit trails for members and fishery authorities.
The system will help members to keep within the complicated quota regulations and also, in the long term, provide a clear picture of stock levels and sustainability for scientists. Historical data can be stored and the systems dynamic report generator will be able to produce detailed reports for environmental and management repor
